Grounded Kids Yoga: Thursdays, 3:15-4:15
What is Grounded Yoga for Kids?
Grounded yoga for kids is based on the principles and practices of Anusara Yoga and teaches kids of all ages and abilities that being grounded allows them to more fully enjoy life.
Who is teaching Yoga Club?
Kelli Love, M.Ed. 200 RYT, Grounded Kids Trained
My passion and experience for both yoga (teaching since 2004) and educating children (teaching elementary grades since 2006) is my strength. I understand the importance of engaging attention as well as keeping a sense of developmental appropriateness in an after school program.
What will yoga club look like for my child?
Yoga club is centered around a fun, upbeat and energetic attitude. A series of yoga postures and movement, breathing techniques, and visualization with music, reading, language, and expressive art are all a part of the program. Cooperative games, partner poses, storytelling, and themed activities, will all be integrated into a class fostering positive thinking, social skills, and environmental awareness.
The program will encourage even the most hesitant through humor and a wholesome approach to learning. We will use elements of play and fun, all the while giving each child tools to balance their physical and emotional lives. Yoga club is a place where children have an opportunity to connect with their bodies, feel empowered, and build confidence within themselves. Ultimately, yoga club seeks to offer the inspiration and joy reaching into everyday life that comes from practicing yoga.
